News on Caerphilly Interchange

The Caerphilly Interchange community survey has been active now for 3 weeks, and we’d like to thank everyone for their participation and insight into how you experience the station and your ideas and suggestions for how it can be improved.

We have been encouraged by the participation in this part of our engagement, and are grateful for all your comments.

We’d also like to share some quick data points which you have helped us generate:

• The most popular use of the station among respondents to our survey is for Shopping or Leisure (35%) with commuting to/from Cardiff in second place (26%). 
• The four most popular means of travelling to and from Caerphilly station is by car (30%), on foot/mobility aid” (25%), bus (20%) and train (15%) 
• 10% of respondents use the station every day, 30% 2-4 times per week, and 35% a few times per month.

Our Engagement Programme

Due to the number of responses we have received, we would like to take more time to consider all the comments and feedback in our design proposals. We will therefore be extending Step 1 of our engagement with you, and the map and questionnaire will continue to be available until the end of July.

We will now aim to begin Step 2 in mid-August and Step 3 in September, after the summer holiday period to enable as many people are able to attend our exhibition as possible.
